The "Labor Market Mentors Dresden" project ties in with the successful pilot project "Labor Market Mentors for Refugees in Dresden", which ended on December 31, 2019.
The new project “Labor Market Mentors Dresden”, which started on January 1, 2020, also has as its central goal the integration of refugees who live in the city of Dresden as promptly and sustainably as possible into the Saxon vocational training and labor markets. Prerequisites for entry into the program include having at least preliminary access to the labor market, as well as enough competencies and language skills to successfully pursue vocational training or employment, which are subject to certain qualifications and to social security contributions.
A new option as part of the “Labor Market Mentors Dresden” project is to provide accompaniment for people with a migration background who have not lived in Saxony for more than five years.
The participants (mentees) are individually assisted by a team of mentors focusing on development for the labor market. These are advisors, coaches, helpers and supporters in questions regarding the integration of mentees in the regional vocational training and labor markets. They help concretize the individual paths of the mentees in their work, training or qualification processes through orientation, preparation and support phases.
In addition, the Labor Market Mentors assist employers with establishing their training and work relationships with the mentees partaking in the project, as well as their integration within the respective companies. A similar project was started in parallel in Leipzig, also being implemented by ARBEIT UND LEBEN Sachsen.
In cooperation with the responsible authorities and agencies, we link existing measures and projects.
